Accident
When employees have an accident, it is important to think of many things.
Information Relating to Accident Insurance for Employees of Canton Berne
Insurance coverage for students, guests and voluntary employees (without pay)
The accident insurance of students matriculated at the University of Bern must be covered by their own health insurance (compulsory health insurance).
Voluntary non-paid personal and guests (guest students, school holiday jobbers, etc.) who intend to work in the laboratory must be pre-registered with the University administration.
This compulsory registration is the responsibility of the head of the organizational unit. The appropriate registration form can be obtained and filled out on Uni Intern (Dienstleistungen > Personal > Index A-Z > Unfallversicherung > Nicht besoldete Personen mit einmaliger Entschädigung – in German only).

Occupational disease
If the employer has evidence of an association between a disease or health disorder and the work activity of an employee, the employer is obliged to clarify the case with the assistance of a work physician, hygienist or other specialist in the field of occupational safety.
