Activities involving the deliberate use of pathogenic or genetically modified organisms must be notified to the Federal Authorities before starting the experiment. Level 1 activities are part of a global DBMR notification while level 2 activities have to be registered individually. The DBMR is not equipped with facilities for activities with level 3 and 4 organisms.
